Located in the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary (CTWS), in the small Creole village of Crooked Tree, we are close to water and to a variety of tropical wildlife species such as Black Howler Monkeys, Great Egret birds, Morelet's Crocodiles, Coatimundi, turtles, and iguanas.
Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary
Established in 1984 by the Belize Audubon Society, the CTWS protects thousands of resident and migrant birds, consisting of a network of inland lagoons, swamps and waterways. At Sam Tillett's you can see and hear up to 45 species of birds while relaxing on the deck of our hotel or in your hammock, including the Jabiru Stork with its 10-12 foot wingspan, Kingfishers, Hawks, and Ospreys. Guided tours with exceptional guides are our specialty, whether on the numerous trails of the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary or anywhere in Belize and Tikal, Guatemala.

Ours is a family operated business started in 1995 by birding and naturalist guide, Sam Tillett. Over the years, Sam has become known for his friendly, exciting and jovial personality, and is cited as of one of Belize's best naturalist guides, in Moon Publication's The Belize Handbook. Sam and his guiding crew are able to communicate their love for Belize throughout their tours and ensure through their enthusiasm and knowledge that you have a memorable experience in Belize
